Saddleback Chrys-Haefen Meagan (OD) (1979-1993)
To every thing there is a season
and a time to every purpose:
A time to plant, a time to reap;
A time to laugh, a time to weep…
Meagan was a cornerstone of our kennel as well as a most beloved family pet.
She never got her championship , but became the producer of numerous titled offspring. She was a substantial girl, with lots of bone and coat, plus she had a stunning head. Most of all she had a gentle, kind temperament and thus was a most wonderful mother. A bit passive, she also had a strong will of her own , but as long as we worked as a team, she was more than willing to do whatever was asked of her.
Meagan had 4 litters of outstanding litters and from then became an influential female in Canadian breed history- and she remains in most if not all of of our pedigrees to this date.She died of a massive stroke, well into her 15th year. We were saddened to say goodbye, but happy that there was no prolonged suffering or illness . We loved Meagan deeply.
We purchased Meagan from Jennifer McAuley (Chrys-haefen reg’d Golden Retrievers) at 8 months of age. She was Bred by Leah and Bill Walls of Saddleback reg’d Golden Retrievers.
Meagan’s sire was Ch. Styal Squire of Nortonwood WC (OS) and her dam was Ch. Saddleback Goodness Gracious me CD (OD).
