She was true cream in colour and smaller in stature at 21″ tall, but she was substantial and well boned, plus she had the most beautiful head, with dark eyes, of the softest expression. Annie achieved her championship with ease – was a perfect package, perfectly balanced.

A most magnificent girl of rich golden colour Chloe came back to us after her first owner did not want her anymore. she was then 10 months old and a wonderfully smart and happy girl who lived for retrieving. We were so very grateful to have her back! she finished her championship easily and then was placed in a co-ownership home with our good friend Ken Thompson. Always bred to Davey , Chloe had two marvellous and problem-free litters for us , before she moved out east with her co-owner. she remains in our pedigrees to this date , through her daughter Meg (Kyon’s time flashes by) and her daughter Tierra (Kyon’s flash in the pan) and their descendants.

Brindy was wonderfully put-together and achieved her championship in the blink of an eye. she was upbeat and fun-loving, yet also laid-back and so very easy to live with. A large, well-boned and substantial girl, she continues to be in our pedigrees to this day, specifically through her son Bugsey (ch Kyon’s Hot Bugsey).

Smokey was a fantastic producer and remains in many of our Kyon pedigree to this date.

Billie is in several of our pedigrees to this date and represents the kind of longevity that we strive for. Billie also had a lot of character, she had her own mind and a somewhat independent nature. she achieved her championship easily and went on to produce champion and outstanding producers and is found in the pedigrees of not only our Kyon Golden Retrievers, but also in other golden breeders’ lines, on both side of the border.

Crystal was bred by our good friend Jane Lunow and came to us after Jane passed away. She finished her championship in 2 weekends with a Best of Breed from the classes. Crytal had an incredible desire to please and would do whatever was asked of her, with a smile on her face. She gave us 3 robust litters of healthy strong puppies and passed on her strong longevity and high working drive.

Vicky finished her championship easily and then gave us 3 wonderful litters and many pups of outstanding longevity and working ability. She had about the best front we have ever seen, perfectly balanced with a strong driving rear . A lustrous rich gold in colour Vicky was a true character, the kind of dog that made us laugh. Sound in mind and body she was also strong-willed and determined and could easily communicate her desires. Vicky remains in our pedigrees to this date and was co-owned by Ed and Anita McDougald.

An amazingly well-angulated Golden retriever, Angel was cream in colour and superbly structured plus a phenomenal mover. She was a smaller girl at 21 ” and had the sweetest temperament possible, indeed living up to her name of ‘Angel’. Angel got her championship with ease and went on to produce both champions and top producers. she is found in several pedigrees on both sides of the border, not only in the Kyon line.

A perfectly balanced little girl Destiny finished her championship undefeated in one weekend, despite her smaller stature . She was a petite package, just 20 3/4″ tall, but she was substantial in bone and had loads of coat plus a sweet feminine head. She was orphaned at birth when her dam, our magnificent Tootsie (ch Kyon’s footloose and fancy free CD) tragically died during an early emergency c-section. Destiny was born 9 days early, yet was one of 7 surviving pups ( out of 14 extremely premature babies).

Ch Kyon’s Secret Montana

A perfectly balanced girl out of Euchre, with a lovely feminine head Montana is super sound in mind and body. She loved the show ring as much as she loves retrieving or swimming- and thus she finished her championship title easily with a big 5 pt win. Medium cream in colour, she is a moderately sized girl of good substance. Always charming and forever happy she is a pleasure to work with, as her desire to please is extremely high. An active and playful girl , she also settles down readily. Montana is amazingly gentle and a complete sweetheart to live with. Uncomplicated in temperament, she has absolutely no worries in the whole world!

Peggy Sue is an eternally sunny and happy girl. She finished her championship in 2 weekends, in magnificent style: never receiving less than a RWB, with all of her wins being majors. A medium cream with pale gold highlights, she is a balanced, substantial and short-coupled girl. Her head and expression is to die for- and her temperament, while relatively active, is rock solid and incredibly sweet. She loves retrieving and is birdy, plus is an incredible waterdog who would live in our pond if she could. She never has had a quarrel with anybody in her life: the world is her oyster!

CH. Kyon’s Star Crossed Lover

Having received her championship in 2012 Star is shown here in her championship photo and winning the regional GRCC Speciality can bred Class in 2011. Light gold in colour, she is moderate in size and substance, but huge in heart and character! Extremely well structured, she moves like the wind, never putting a foot down wrong. Star is most importantly a gentle, kind girl who is still confident and outgoing. She loves to retrieve, is birdy and an incredible waterdog.

CH. Kyon’s Across The Universe

VERA is an exciting addition to our breeding program, with a partially new pedigree that still maintains much of the old Kyon lines. Her grandfather is our Sheaster a dog well known for producing outstanding working dogs as well as show stars. While her father (Aon’s G’day mate at Kyon) was conceived by frozen semen from Australia. Vera has OFA EXCELLENT hips and is a happy, outgoing, yet super gentle dog. She also has the traits of a steady, focused retriever. In just a 3 weekends of showing, she was never out of the ribbons and all her wins were majors. Her crowning glory was a 5 pt Best of Breed under a breed-specialist from Spain. Vera is a vibrant pale gold in colour and has a wonderfully correct wavy coat.

Tessa is a true cream Kyon golden retriever girl and has many of her sire Mick’s personality trait. Happy, confident and very biddable she finished her championship with ease, never being out of the ribbons ever since she was first shown as a puppy. Her first litter (the very last litter from our Euchre) produced exceptionally sound and well rounded offspring and she continued to have wonderful puppies at Kyon. A dedicated dam, like her mother before her, we are grateful for what she contributed to the breeding program.

Kyon is so happy to add our brilliant Katie aka Ch Kyon’s Chit Chat to the breeding program. Katie got her championship title undefeated in the open class, at the tender age of only 18 months. She is a striking looking girl , medium cream in colour, with a beautifully strong head and overall superb structure. She, like her sire, Ivan (ch Guldakra’s Ivan Lendl) is a very good sized and substantial golden with an endearing personality- and an eager desire to retrieve, plus possessing a super swimming ability. She is also like her dam Chatter ( kyon’s as the saying goes) in that she has a soft disposition and superb angulation front and rear. We are very excited to see what Katie will bring to our breeding program!

STELLA

Kyon’s Surprisingly Good For You

A wonderfully structured girl who is extremely sound in temperament. Stella has produced stunning puppies for us. She is as comfortable relaxing at our feet as she is swimming, retrieving, and playing in our fields. In her first show weekend Stella received 6 points and is well on her way to getting her full championship. Stella is a medium sized female with very strong head features and lovely angulation.

Mocha – aka ch Kyon’s fire up the Mocha- is a perfect little package. medium cream in colour she finished her championship in just two weekends, loving every minute of being out and about. Mocha is a sunny confident girl, extremely well structured with a sweet smile and gorgeous head. Her hips are scored an OFA EXCELLENT and we are delighted that this super sound girl- in mind and body- has joined our breeding program. Mocha is a keen retriever and loves retrieving , plus has an open biddable and highly trainable nature.

CHATTER

Kyon’s As The Saying Goes

Chatter is a stunning girl. An offspring of Ozzie, with a light cream colour, she is a striking-looking girl with a beautiful full coat. Moderate in size and elegant in looks she has a gorgeous head and expression. She is supremely well angulated front and rear and thus moves like a dream. She is, like her father, slightly softer in temperament, but in typical golden retriever fashion will do anything to please and is highly biddable. A charming dog to live with Chatter loves retrieving, swimming and is extremely ‘birdy’. She also has a definite twinkle in her eyes!

Kyon’s Haley’s Comet

Haley is a delightful, sunny addition to our breeding program, from a highly successful combination. She is much like her mother Star in her exceptionally sweet and kind disposition. Otherwise she is just like her father Mick in that she is very clever and an eternally happy dog. Haley is of a medium cream colouration and a slightly wavy coat. She is quite confident and has a keen retrieving desire. Exceptionally well-structured, Haley is a substantial and well-boned girl and we are expecting that she will do very well in the show ring.

JANE

Ch Kyon’s Baby Jane

Jane has 5 points towards her championship and we are excited to see her in the ring again at the end of November. She is truly a stunning golden retriever and we fully expect her to receive her championship. Jane, out of our Ivan, is one of the most promising young girls we have. She showed at the 2012 specialities and placed 2nd in the Canadian bred class both days! She was also shown at and took the points on her first all breeddog-show. She is now well on her way to her championship and we look forward to seeing her contribution to our breeding program. Jane is a true cream colour, with beautiful angles and a stunning top line. Her greatest attributes are her wonderfully gentle and confident temperament. A Golden Retriever in the truest sense.

Kyon’s Glory Days

Glory is sired by our Euchre and she is much like him; in her happy, always-smiling disposition and confident mannerisms. She is also much like her mother Sky ( Kyon’s Dancing in the Dark) in her gentle interaction and nurturing kindness towards all babies. An athletic Golden retriever Glory loves to be retrieving and is always diving in for a swim when the opportunity arises. Glory is a very pale gold in colour and is a perfectly balanced golden retriever. It is poetry in motion watching her move she never puts a foot down wrong and her top-line remains very strong. We are excited about Glory’s contribution to our breeding program and we look forward to her show career. To our Delight Glory achieved a rating of OFA Excellent for her hips.

As Sheaster’s daughter Maggie Mae carries forward his bloodline, which is well known for exceptional trainability and a very strong hunting drive. She also is very gentle of nature and an incredibly intelligent girl.

Sushi is our “film-star” golden, She spent her puppy-hood performing as a the resident family pet on the popular TV show “Darcy’s wildlife”, where she charmed everybody with her endearing and biddable nature and quick ability to learn any new trick. A moderate girl of true cream colour, she is striking looking girl who loves to retrieve and is incredibly birdy. With her perpetually sunny and ever-happy nature it did not take her long to finish her championship, while also winning the large Canadian bred class at our regional Speciality. Sushi additionally garnered a best of breed win and group 4th from the open bitch class.

We are very proud of this girl and all that she has brought to our breeding program.

A rich golden-coloured girl, with a slighthly wavy coat, Diva exemplifies english golden retriever type and usually produces the full range of colour in her litters, from cream to rich gold offspring. A beautiful mover she achieved her championship easily, with a large Canadian bred class win at a speciality, along the way. She is a moderate sized girl, with a lovely head and soft expression. Diva is sunny in disposition and is a keen retriever and superb waterdog. she tends to pass on her completely uncomplicated temperament, her pups likes to have fun, yet are easy-going and highly trainable, just like their dam!

A beautifully structured girl, she finished her championship in 2 weekends, never achieving less than a reserve winners ribbon at only 14 months of age. she eventually became a hugely influential girl for Kyon , mostly though her son Fire (ch Kyon’s Great Balls of Fire) and her grandson Bugsey (ch Kyon’s Hot Bugsey).

Our eldest son’s dog Magic was a brilliant worker , incredibly smart and a lot of fun. She also was beautiful and thus finished her championship with ease. Trained in obedience Magic was quick to learn, with an incredibly biddable nature, so that even a young boy could get her to her CD with minimal effort. Kind at heart she also loved raising babies and had thoroughly sound babies, in both mind and body.

A small girl of exquisite type and super balance Faith exemplified what an athletic Golden Retriever should be. Faith was strong-willed, loved swimming and retrieving and had a high drive for working, yet was a sweet family pet. Faith has stamped these traits onto her many descendant across the north American continent. Faith is behind many- if not most- of our present days Kyon Golden Retrievers and has strongly passed on her exceptional longevity.

1985 – 2000

Shelbie was returned to us as a failed show prospect. However, after some socialization and conditioning she blossomed and in the end she easily got her championship with Speciality class wins along the way. Shelbie turned out to be our very most influential Shea X Lucky daughter. She had 14 titled full brothers and sisters and was perhaps the smallest of them all, but still she ended up being hugely influential and she is found in pedigrees on both sides of the border to this date. She passed on her strong genes for longevity and health. She may have been small in stature, but she was huge in character. Always sunny in spirit, she lives on through her many descendants.

Junie was an outstanding female who got her championship, undefeated- in two weekends , as a puppy, with several Puppy-Groups as well as two Best Puppy in Shows. She came from a famous combination ( Ch Mjaerumhogda’s Kyon Flying Surpise CDX (OS) X Ch Chrys-haefen Lucky Lady (OD)). She had a total of 13 full siblings that were also titled in both conformation and obedience

Found in many of our pedigrees Lucky was a foundation brood-bitch in her influence on our breeding program. Rich gold in colour and marvellously structured, she lived well past her 16th year and passed on her genes of longevity. Always bred to Shea (Bda & Can Ch Mjaerumhogda’s Kyon Flying Surprise CDX (OS) ) she produced 4 exceedingly healthy litters, which resulted in many lovely family-pets and a total of 15 titled offspring.

Tootsie ended up being one of our most influential home-bred golden retriever girls of all time and is found in numerous pedigrees on both sides of the border. A happy, showy girl, she got her championship as a puppy with several best puppy in groups and also achieved her CD in 3 straight trials with high scores. She was a good sized substantial girl with lots of coat and a lovely head. Tootsie also had the soundest possible working temperament, which she consistently passed on to her offspring. She became the sire of many top winners and top producers. Tootsie tragically died during an emergency c-section.

We are so proud of our girl and our thanks go out to all the judges who recognized her exceptional quality. Leah is turning out to be an exceptional dam, who loves raising puppies and even has been a gentle foster-mother when that has been required. Her contribution to our breeding program has been exceptional .

We are so proud of this stunning cream girl- who is beautifully structured with lovely type and appropriately has never out of the ribbons whenever she steps in the competitive Golden Retriever ring !
